The holiday season is filled with joy, connection, and celebration, but for mothers, it can also be physically and mentally demanding. As a twin mom, my days are defined by movement, multitasking, and constant caregiving. Between lifting babies, managing schedules, and creating meaningful moments, it’s easy to place our own health at the bottom of the list.
Over time, I’ve learned that staying strong and healthy during the busy season isn’t about perfection, it’s about making small, supportive choices that help you feel capable, energized, and present.
Make Movement Work for Your Life. Physical strength is essential in motherhood, and even more so when raising twins. From carrying babies to bending, lifting, and staying on the move all day, our bodies are working constantly.
Instead of long or rigid workouts, I focus on short, effective movement sessions that fit into real life, especially during the holidays.
A 22-minute mat sculpt workout is one of my go-to options because it builds full-body strength, supports posture, and boosts energy without feeling overwhelming.

Use Movement to Support Your Mental Health
Movement isn’t just about physical fitness, it’s a powerful tool for mental wellbeing. On overstimulating or high-stress days, even a short workout helps me reset, clear my mind, and feel more grounded.
When my mental health is supported, I’m able to show up more present and patient, and actually enjoy the season rather than simply pushing through it.
Listen to Your Body’s Needs
One of the most important skills moms can develop is body awareness. Some days call for strength training; others call for gentle movement and recovery.
My stretch and flow sessions help release tension, improve mobility, and calm the nervous system, especially during seasons of limited sleep and heightened stress.

Nourish Yourself, Not Just Your Family
During the holidays, nutrition often becomes an afterthought. I know how easy it is to survive on kids’ leftovers or skip meals altogether.
This season, I’ve focused on keeping nutrition simple rather than perfect. Meal prepping when possible makes a huge difference, and Crock-Pot meals have been a game-changer for our family. Preparing meals in the morning means dinner is ready by evening, leftovers last for days, and I know I’m fueling my body with nourishing food.
Simple Nutrition Tips for Busy Moms
- Prioritize protein at each meal to support energy and strength
- Keep easy, nourishing snacks on hand (Greek yogurt, nuts, fruit, hard-boiled eggs)
- Stay hydrated, fatigue is often dehydration in disguise
- Aim for balance, not restriction, enjoy holiday treats alongside nourishing meals
Get Outside & Re-Energize
Never underestimate the power of fresh air. A short walk outside can boost vitamin D, improve mood, and help reset your energy—especially during hectic days.
Strength Is the Foundation
For me, strength means having the capacity to care for my twins, create meaningful traditions, and fully participate in the joy of the season. When moms prioritize movement, nourishment, and recovery, they build a foundation that supports everything else.
This holiday season, remember: caring for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential.
You’ve got this, mama. 💪✨
