Twin Mom Answer about Twins Info:

@allaboutwins : Congratulations on your twin pregnancy! It’s natural to feel overwhelmed, especially if you’re a first-time mom expecting twins. Here are some essential tips to help you navigate this exciting journey:

Educate yourself: Start by exploring our “Books” Highlight (under our bio) for great twin parenting reads.

Connect with other moms: Join online twin mom groups or local support networks. @twinstrust @twinsandmultiples @twiniversity for example. These communities offer a wealth of advice, shared experiences, and moral support.

Baby gear: Some must-have products include the Twin Z Pillow for feeding, the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double Stroller for outings, and the Halo Bassinest Twin Sleeper for safe and convenient sleep.

Self-care: Remember to prioritize self-care. It’s crucial to recharge and stay healthy, both physically and mentally.

Talk to your healthcare provider: Have open discussions with your healthcare provider about your specific needs and concerns. They can provide personalized guidance and address any medical considerations.

Plan and organize: Consider setting up a detailed plan and schedule for your twins’ care routines. This can help create a sense of order in a potentially chaotic period.

Support system: Lean on your partner, family, and friends for help when needed. Accepting assistance is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Prepare early: Twins often arrive earlier than singletons. Begin preparing for their arrival early by setting up the nursery, purchasing baby essentials, and packing your hospital bag.

Remember, every twin journey is unique, and it’s okay to feel overwhelmed at times. You’re not alone, and there’s a vast network of twin parents ready to share their wisdom. Feel free to ask more questions on any of our posts anytime. 😊💕

@sea_soulmindfulness : Just breathe! You will get told a million things by singleton mums friends and the midwives….. it can feel overwhelming but if you het yourself into a good routine and accept all the help you get offered take it! I breast fed mine tandomly and had an Incredible feeding pillow so I could snuggle them while they slept afterwards. Sleep when you can. Don’t worry about the house work and remind yourself each and every day how exceptional you are! You’ve got this!! Having twins is such a blessing! Take each moment as it comes and enjoy it! Sending lots of love ❤️

@noahandnori : Hiii!! “What to Do When You’re Having Two: The Twins Survival Guide from Pregnancy Through the First Year”, is a great book to read to prepare you for your twins. I personally found it very helpful. But honestly my biggest advice for any first time/twin mom is to not overthink and overstress. You can only prepare so much. For me, once the twins are here.. everything just falls into place. You will find your routine, you will learn what works for your twins, and you will know what’s best for your twins. Motherhood is a beautiful journey of learning and discovering. Be present, it will all go by way too quickly. Good luck!! ❤️❤️

@kajsaamalia : First of all congratulations. 🥳 It is truly such a wonderful, amazing, beautiful experience to have twins. I think about it at least once every day that I am so happy to experience it. (I know it sounds cheesy but it’s true.) Sure, there is work – of course. And some things may feel hard. For sure. But it depends so much on the personality of the babies, and the joy of seeing them together will make up for a lot of the hard stuff. 🙃

My advice would be:
Give yourself time and patience. Don’t stress yourself. Some things may take time.
Surround yourself with the support you need and say no thank you to the stuff you don’t want in your orbit.
Join positive and supportive twin groups. I have one and it’s been so great.
Read about twins and don’t assume the people you meet in the health care system always knows the specific stuff about twins or twin pregnancies.
Give breastfeeding a chance if that’s what you want, it’s more than possible to do and not be overwhelmed. That is: Don’t listen to people who have not breastfed twins saying negative things about it.😉
Also don’t buy heaps of stuff but if possible I would recommend a good stroller. It gives you freedom. If you use formula buy a formula machine, it’s a game changer. I promise.
Perhaps the most crucial thing is: take care of yourself. 🙂

@the_collaboration_twins : We have something that may be able to help very soon to be released. In the meantime feel free to check out our podcast (The Collaboration Twins Podcast) on Apple, Spotify etc or now on YouTube. We go through pregnancy, birth to where we are now at nearly 17 months ..hope it helps 🙏🏼💕

@duffytwins_plus_two : Accept help when it’s offered! X

@twiniversity : Congratulations! Twins are the best. Check out everything there is to learn about twins at 🙌

@meleibold : Yay! Congrats! Don’t buy too many clothes at first! Though fun, we wasted a lot because of babies sizes and changing seasons (preemies, short sleeve/long sleeve etc)

Get a twin Z pillow. You’ll need it for so many reasons! Facebook marketplace for so many things. You won’t need two of everything but you will of a lot of things (we used 2 dockatots and swings because of our sanity)

When they’re here, taking care of yourself has to be a priority. Some days that is just simply getting up and dressed, brushing your teeth, and downing a big glass of water and a quick PB&J sandwich. Aaand coffee if you drink it ☕️ but always open the blinds, let the sunshine in and get 5 mins if outside time a day. Seems easy but some days it will be a challenge.

Crockpot meals and smoothies are a must for simplicity and quick energy

Remember you CAN do this! You were made to be a twin mom!!

As for getting them here-enjoy the ride. Take snacks everywhere. Pregnancy will pass whether it was lovely or miserable. And take the pregnancy photos-selfies, updates. You’ll miss it (at least some days!) 🤍

@nicolerosemcg : Following! Twin mom due in December!

@swatibahore : I am in the survival phase with my twins. Please advise

@twins.beingtwins : We never bothered with cots! Best thing we ever did. Just x2 mattresses next to one another on the floor and haven’t had any of the sleep issues we had with our eldest. They are comfy, free to move around and be close to one another ❤️❤️

@sreemoyeebiswas13 : Congratulations ❤️ As I can see you are receiving enough suggestions regarding stuffs and other things… I would like to enlighten you on the other aspects… Being a twin mom is an overwhelming challenge so take it up but don’t try to take it up all alone. Ask for help, accept all the help and raise your kids. Its okay to take help !!! Breastfeeding is best, do it if possible. If its not possible then go for formula milk with consultation of your pediatrician. All is good for your kids till your mental health is good. So feel good about everything and be comfortable in whatever you are doing… Stay calm, stay positive !!! Lastly, you can only plan for your twins but trust me once they are born, no plan works… 😂

@angelaviera : Idk girl but I’m 3 weeks behind you and DEFINITELY gonna be following this one

@audmcleary : Get the table for two! It’s expensive, but we use it daily and it’s become invaluable.

@tandem_tribe : Hi all, I have 16 month old twin girls i have created a page share what I have learned. I had my girls at home, my baby B was breech. @tandem_tribe
